Student Life
At the Bible Institute we believe in the education of the whole student- or as we like to call it: study, life, and ministry. This is represented in our motto Know, Follow, Proclaim! This takes place both inside and outside the classroom as we seek to educate the heart as well as the mind. We recognize that a student’s ministry will not be shaped by his knowledge and skill alone but also, inevitably, by the condition of his heart – his life. As a complement to the work of the teaching faculty, Student Life exists to facilitate the education of the heart outside the classroom.

An important part of life at the Bible Institute is the rules that we have in place to maintain order and teach a disciplined lifestyle.

DiscipleshipThe atmosphere of The Word of Life Bible Institute is one of continual learning and growing. The Student Life Department seeks to cultivate a community where students are biblically discipled and encouraged to bear fruit. We believe that discipleship takes place in every aspect of the Bible Institute: study, life, and ministry. The Discipleship and Mentoring program are part of the BI activities, in which each student has the opportunity to have a WOL staff member to help them make the most of their time at Bible Institute.

Personal DevotionDelving into God’s Word on a consistent and persistent basis is one of the foundations for an effective Christian life. Personal devotion is a means for accomplishing just that on an individual and personal basis. Every morning during the school week, time is blocked out for students around campus to spend time reading God’s Word and praying. For many, this is where the true life transformation starts as God’s Word changes minds and hearts.
|
Community DevotionsSupplement personal study in God's Word with time spent discussing the Scriptures with others. Community devotions are a chance for students to come together to learn and apply God’s Word. Each Dorm has devotional times together each week. In addition, there are chapel services every week featuring resident and adjunct faculty as well as guest speakers.

Service AssignmentWe seek to develop a heart of service through Service Assignments. Each student spends 6 hours weekly in service to Christ and their fellow students by helping to fulfill the daily operational needs of the Bible Institute.
Our Service Assignment Coordinator will choose your area of service based upon operational needs and the skills and abilities with which the Lord has blessed you. Some of the areas of service available are housekeeping, maintenance, dining room and kitchen service, office assistants, and IT/MM. |
Student Activities
Fellowship with other believers is a core component of the growth in a Christian's life. The accountability of friends who pray for you and are committed to focusing your thoughts on the Word is one of the main reasons why our students experience such great growth during their time here.
Our staff is committed to creating opportunities for fellowship through campfires, discipleship groups, movie nights, and more.

Family NightsEach student is placed in a group that becomes a small family throughout the year. One or two times each month, your family group will have dinner at your staff member's home sharing testimonies, playing games, and forming friendships that will last a lifetime.

On-Campus ActivitiesDuring the school year, the Student Life department plans fun activities like our annual non-talent show and international dinner. Students also enjoy fellowship through sports, movie nights, campfires, and the table games in the student lounge.
