With a commitment to the Great Commission, we at Word of Life Bible Institute are dedicated to teaching our students not only Biblical truths, but practical tools to put those truths into action. We believe that it is crucial for each student to apply what they learn in the classroom and to be better able to evangelize and disciple through the building up of the local church.
Weekly, each student will have the opportunity to participate on one of a variety of ministry teams throughout Hungary. Our students are provided with a range of opportunities to better prepare them for their future service to the Lord.
Those whom the Lord has blessed with musical abilities may have the opportunity to use them as part of either our traveling music team that visits local churches or our on campus worship team that leads singing during the chapels.
Local Church Ministry
Word of Life desires to partner with local churches, strengthening them as they reach out to their communities. With this motivation, students desiring more experience working with young people in the church will have a wonderful opportunity through these ministry teams.
Our Sunday School Ministry Team has the opportunity to serve in local churches by teaching Sunday school to children every week and developing relationships with the children and their parents as they teach them about Jesus. The English Club ministry uses teaching English as an opportunity to share the Gospel, and to partner with local churches in community outreach.
The Youth Ministry Team travels to different youth groups throughout Hungary and partners with different ministries in the neighboring countries assisting in youth meetings and conferences while promoting the ministries of WOL in an exciting and enthusiastic way.
We desire that each of our students will have a heart to see lost people come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. The Street Evangelism Team travels to downtown Budapest sharing the Gospel through one on one conversations.
In the month of October, a week is set aside for students and staff to carry out practical ministry in many locations. All students must participate and raise funds to cover travel costs.
In the month of March, before spring break, students can experience practical missions. During the school year, several locations are offered for this mission trip. All students must participate and raise funds to cover travel costs. Costs will vary depending on the location and type of ministry that will be developed.
Additionally, as part of our curriculum, each student must participate in an 6-week ministry practicum during the summer following the completion of the academic program. The lower price for travel to nearby countries enables ministry opportunities with the many Word of Life locations in Europe. This is an excellent opportunity to experience several different cultures, in a Christian context, for this 6-week ministry adventure.
